This image captures the very moment when Viking King Harald Hadrada caught an arrow through the neck. While overshadowed by the more famous battle of Hastings (three weeks earlier), this particular battle is the one that typically signifies the end of the Viking Age.

The original was painted in 1870 by Peter Nicolai Arbo and is currently on display at the Northern Norway Art Museum in Tromso, Norway.
